For more than 15 years, Howard Tomb has helped senior leaders around the world translate complex, high-stakes issues into potent narratives and multimedia communications initiatives that attract attention, build trust and drive action.
A senior advisor to McKinsey & Company since 2005 and to KPMG since 2021, he crafts thought leadership and advises executive teams on communications for mergers, transformations, and public-facing initiatives across non-profit, corporate, financial, and health-related sectors. In short, he helps leaders across industries translate complicated realities into stories that target audiences understand, remember, repeat—and act on.
Howard's career bridges rigorous strategy and storytelling. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in Literature from UC Santa Cruz, and he has authored books for McKinsey on pharmaceuticals, insurance, and M&A alongside feature stories and op-eds for The New York Times and many other national publications. His humor and children’s books have sold more than 1.3 million copies to date, and his award-winning documentary on racial profiling by the police in Philadelphia won awards at a dozen film festivals across the United States.
Based in the New York metropolitan area, Howard offers an unusual combination of attributes: the judgment of a trusted counselor to senior leaders and the instincts of a storyteller in a world where audiences’ attention is increasingly fleeting. He is thrilled to share his time, knowledge and capabilities with GHC, a remarkably successful organization whose mission is building health, wealth and power from the ground up.
