Community Health and Empowerment Clubs (CHECs) are GHC’s proven approach to transforming health, livelihoods, and leadership in rural Kenya. They are locally led clubs where members build health, income, and governance skills together — and keep running long after GHC steps back.

Clubs sustain and grow their impact after GHC steps back
From Knowledge to Action
CHECs are where training becomes habit — healthier households, stronger finances, communities that govern themselves. Every CHEC is measured at baseline, midline, and endline — so we know what's actually changing. 9 of our 19 villages are now fully self-sustaining — running their own clubs, managing their own savings, long after GHC stepped back.
The curriculum ends. The clubs don't.
