Jannes Okinyi Kodero is a Social Scientist and holds a Bachelors of Arts in Criminology and a Master of Arts in Sociology. He also holds a Diploma in Community Development (Project Management) and a Diploma in Counseling psychology. Kodero has additional training in Social Science Research, HIV Testing and counseling, community strategy, community HIV prevention, community malaria prevention, WASH and management of Savings and Internal Lending of community (SILC). He has more than 9 years of work experience in HIV Care and Treatment, coordinating Qualitative research and community Sexual and Gender Based Violent working for Kenya Medical Research Institute-Family AIDS and Education Services (KEMRI-FACES). Kodero has also worked with MWENDO for 4 years in the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) program coordinating OVC/HIV linkages and referrals, HIV adherence, retention, child protection services, linkage to vocational trainings and other social safety nets.
He joined Global Health Connections as a Program Manager in late 2021 and leads the Homa Bay team. He is responsible for coordinating the mobilization of the community villages and recruitment and training of CHEC club members. Kodero has a wealth of knowledge in qualitative research, community engagement, community health services, community savings and loaning and general project management skills. He is a team player, goal-oriented and an excellent coach and mentor.
